1. What’s the story?

This is an action science fiction anime from japan, so basically…we’ll see people killing monsters. To be more specific: groups of people have been abducted after they die in the real word and they are resurrected back into the real world by unknown force to fight the monsters that try to overrun Japan (don’t ask questions, I have literally no idea). Those people are like in a real life videogame, if they survive till the fighting session ends, they get their full health back, and if they collect enough points, they get prizes.

The movie begins with a 17 year old boy Kato (looks like 27 year old though) getting brutally killed and he has to join the monster fighting group after his death. We are not given any backstory about how it works or why. But having watched Japanese anime before, I am not surprised. Like my boss likes to do in the office, in Japanese anime movies you are often put in some kind of situation and it’s like: “Here you go, try to survive, and no questions why!”
