1. What’s the story?
Maybe you have heard about the certain Dr. Frankenstein who was trying to create life by resurrecting corpses and shoving a new brain in them? Well this is a story about his grandson (Gene Wilder) and how he tries to complete his grandfather’s work. At the beginning he isn’t that keen on the idea that dead people can be resurrected, but after he “accidentally” stumbles upon his grandfather’s notes, he is hooked and needs to try (exactly like you need to try your first cigarette when you are 15). On that journey he finds weird companions: Igor (Marty Feldman) and Inga (Teri Garr) who help him to achieve his goals. …Ok, “help” is quite a strong word for what they do from time to time, but they have good intentions.
2. What’s special about the film?
This is not a horror movie, like you would expect from the title, this is a comedy that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and it can be considered more like a parody.
